A program submitted by Nara Women’s University has been selected for the JST “India Young Researchers Brain Circulation Program (LOTUS Programme).”

A program proposed by Nara Women’s University has been selected for the “India Young Researchers Brain Circulation Program (LOTUS Programme: India-Japan Circulation of Talented Youths in Science Programme)”, implemented by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST).

Under this program, one early-career researcher from India will be invited for one year starting in March 2026, and one additional researcher will be invited for one month during fiscal year 2026.

The LOTUS Programme aims to promote joint research between universities and research institutions in Japan and India by inviting outstanding young researchers from India and providing joint supervision by faculty members from both countries, while also supporting the researchers’ career development in Japan. Through these collaborative research activities, the promotion of global knowledge exchange, and the development of internationally mobile research talent, the programme seeks to strengthen Japan’s research capabilities and innovation capacity. The programme covers a wide range of science and engineering fields, including AI and information science, biotechnology, energy, materials, quantum science, semiconductors, and communications.

The program selected at Nara Women’s University focuses on AI and information science.

This selection recognizes the University’s long-standing efforts in building international collaborative research activities with India and is expected to further deepen Japan–India research cooperation and advance research activities in the natural sciences.
